WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 11, 2024) — The Williamsport Area School District recently approved Brett Hofstrom as its new head boys’ soccer coach.

Hofstrom, a 1998 Williamsport Area High School graduate, earned all-conference honors as a soccer standout during his time as a Millionaire.

After graduation, he played for Shippensburg University, where he started all four years and served as team captain during his junior and senior years, while also earning All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors twice.

He served as an assistant boys’ soccer coach for the Millionaires from 2003 to 2004 before taking the head coaching position at Montgomery Area School District in 2005, where he served in that role for three years. He also was the assistant men’s coach at Lycoming College from 2007 through the 2010 season.

“I am honored to take the role of coaching the Williamsport boys’ soccer program,” Hofstrom said. “I value the experience of the student-athlete and will prioritize academic excellence, athletic performance, teamwork and character development. As alumnus of the WAHS soccer program, I am excited to contribute to the continued success and growth of the program."

He and his wife, Hillary, and their three children reside in Williamsport.
