WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 11, 2024) — The Williamsport Area School Board recently approved several administrative changes that will take effect beginning July 1 for the 2024-2025 school term.
Williamsport Area High School Dean of Students Jacob Anderson will now serve as Curtin Intermediate School’s assistant principal, replacing Adam Paulhamus, who resigned for other employment on June 6.
Anderson began his career in education in 2020 as a math teacher at Williamsport Area Middle School before taking on his latest administrative role at WAHS last December.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in middle level and special education from Lock Haven University and Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Point Park University.
A 22-year veteran of the district, Liz Dincher will take over as a grade-level principal at WAHS, moving up from her position in the building as a special education teacher. She replaces Tristin Forney, who took over as the assistant principal at Lycoming Valley Intermediate School last December.
Dincher began her career in education in 2002 in her current role, working in self-contained learning support math, emotional support classrooms and also served as a co-teacher in general education math classrooms.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and holds master degrees in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership from Wilkes University and University of Scranton, respectively.
Keith Veldhuis also will assume the role of a new grade-level principal at WAHS, replacing Kim Williamson, who will transfer to WAMS as an eighth-grade English teacher.
Veldhuis returns to WASD from the Jersey Shore Area School District, where he’s most recently served as principal of Jersey Shore Area Middle School since 2018.
He began his career in education in 2006 at WASD as a physical education teacher at Curtin Middle School and later at Cochran Elementary School before becoming an assistant principal at JSAMS in 2012. Prior to his latest administrative post at JSASD, he was the principal of Jersey Shore Area Elementary School.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Lock Haven University, and earned his Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.
