WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JANUARY 22, 2024) — Fostering a connection between education and industry, Williamsport Area High School Commercial and Advertising Art designed a custom snowboard in a recent collaboration with Gilson, a snowboard manufacturer based in Selinsgrove.

The collaboration began when Gilson offered to produce a snowboard featuring a design created by a WAHS Ad Art student.

After designs were produced by Level 2 and Level 3 students, the Ad Art classes selected their top four. Those four were put out to the entire student body to cast their vote on their favorite design, which was sent to Gilson for production.

As part of this unique learning experience, the Ad Art students took a field trip to the Gilson factory in Selinsgrove. During the visit, students toured the facility, gaining valuable insights into the snowboard manufacturing process. The class also actively contributed to the creation of the WAHS snowboard while there.

Now complete, the board remains on display in the Commons at WAHS.
