WASD Bids Farewell to 23 Retirees in Tribute Video

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 8, 2023) — As the Williamsport Area School District eyes the end of another school term, it pledged its farewell to 23 retirees.

In a video tribute, administrators and supervisors said goodbye to this year's class of retirees, who, together, represent a combined 515 years of experience. 

Those retiring this year:

  • Gary Baer, maintenance, IMC, 20 years
  • David Duvall, teacher, Jackson Primary School, 35 years
  • David Ferry, teacher, Williamsport Area High School, 24 years 
  • Jeanne Goodell, teacher, Curtin Intermediate School, 30 years
  • Deanna Heck, administrative support, Williamsport Area Middle School, 28 years
  • Lori Hoyt, health room technician, Williamsport Area High School, 24 years
  • Todd Kendall, teacher, Williamsport Area High School, 32 years
  • Bonnie Maddox, administrative support, tax office, 22 years
  • Suzie Marshall, custodian, Williamsport Area Middle School, 23 years
  • Rich McDonald, maintenance, Jackson Primary School, 25 years 
  • Kathleen Mondell, teacher, Williamsport Area Middle School, 30 years
  • Donna O'Brien, teacher, Curtin Intermediate School, 20 years
  • Marilyn O'Neill, teacher, Williamsport Area High School, 23 years
  • Jeff O'Neill, custodian, Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, 7 years
  • Renee Risbon, custodian, Williamsport Area High School, 12 years
  • Patricia Shaffer, aide, Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, 3 years
  • Kathy Shirey, administrative support, Williamsport Area High School, 25 years
  • Tammy Snyder, teacher, Cochran Primary School, 21 years
