Each year, the foundation hosts its annual golf tournament.
For seven years, the golf tournament proceeds benefited the WAHS Fitness Center, which officially opened the first week in March 2014. Since the start of the golf outing, the foundation raised $39,000 to help offset the cost of future equipment purchases.
The Fitness Center relocated from the high school's sub-gym to a retrofitted Blue Cafeteria. It features an expanded training room and new locker rooms. The space is used for physical education classes and sports training, as well being a part of the district's wellness program.
With the completion of the Fitness Center, the 2014 tournament began benefitting the foundation's Return to Glory capital campaign
, which is funding the renovations to STA Stadium at the high school.
The WASD Education Foundation's annual golf tournament was held on June 19, 2015, and — thanks to the 21 foursomes, volunteers and numerous sponsors — it made a net profit of $6,126 for the campaign.
2015 was the 10th year for the tournament, and the second year the tournament was held for the capital campaign. Combined with 2015's total, the event has brought in a total of about $11,300 for the campaign.
